Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced late on 25 June the arrest of over two dozen Israeli agents in the province of Khuzestan, in the southwest of the country.
The IRGC Deputy Public Relations Officer confirmed that technical and military equipment, as well as communication devices, were seized from the 26 suspects.
The Iranian Intelligence Ministry said in a statement earlier that it has identified agents across the country affiliated with Israel’s Mossad, the CIA, and the British MI6 agency.
The ministry said it will “announce some of its reports in the coming days, depending on circumstances,” adding that it “relied on various networks to gather highly classified and strategic information.”
It also described Iran’s internal campaign against spies as “a fierce battle with enemies in the hidden layers of the battlefront.”
Additionally, the spokesperson for the Iranian Internal Security Forces, Brigadier General Montazer al-Mahdi, announced the arrest of a spy in the Tehran metro.
Upon confiscating his mobile phone, authorities found he had filmed and photographed sensitive military locations using a microchip and sent them to unknown numbers. Instructions in Hebrew were also found on his phone.
Earlier, Iranian media reported the execution of three more people detained on charges of espionage.
Edris Aali, Azad Shojaee, and Rasoul Ahmad were executed on Wednesday morning after being found guilty of “cooperation with the foreign governments and espionage for the Zionist regime.”
The 12-day Iran–Israel war came to an end on 24 June following a ceasefire announced by US President Donald Trump.
During the war, Israel relied on an extensive network of Mossad agents inside Iran who were behind the assembly and launching of microdrones across the country, aimed at overwhelming Iranian air defenses and attacking targets.
Prior to the start of the Israeli war, the Mossad had established drone production sites and launch bases, which were activated on 13 June to complement Tel Aviv’s campaign, according to several recent reports. A little over one week ago, Iranian authorities raided a three-story building on the outskirts of Tehran, uncovering a facilityfor assembling drones and explosives.
The day before the ceasefire, Iranian media reported the seizure of 10,000 dronesused by agents inside Iran since 13 June.
